Updated: Sep 29, 2021

Spotlight on Sarah McAnallen - Winner of ‘Yes you Can’ Pitching Competition 2019

Riada are passionate about the development of young people, inspiring them to make bold decisions in order to further themselves both personally and professionally. The journey of Sarah McAnallen, a member of the 2020 ‘Female Entrepreneur ‘ Panel at the upcoming Entrepreneurs Conference and winner of the ‘Yes you Can’ Pitching competition last year, is one which resonates with us and one which we want to highlight to inspire future generations of young people in Northern Ireland.

Frances Lundy MD, was a member of the ‘Female Entrepreneurs’ Panel at the 2019 Conference. She shared her story, exploring how her brave decisions along with the help and support of long term colleagues and clients throughout her career, has enabled Riada Resourcing to become one of the leading independent recruitment agencies in Northern Ireland for over 20 years now.

Sarah McAnallen is the CEO of McAnallen Ltd, a design-focused business that creates products with the purpose of making life easier for individuals with mobility issues. Sarah made the bold decision to utilise her degree in Product Design from Ulster University to create a range of products including Ezi Sock, offering independence and allowing individuals to put on socks in a seated position without needing to bend down. Crowned the winner of the 2019 ‘Yes you Can Pitching Competition’, the first Northern Ireland wide programme that promotes and develops female enterprise. Like Riada, the programme helps individuals build towards their future.

Riada pride ourselves on developing the employability skills of young people. Through our partnerships with Northern Regional College, Young Farmers Clubs of Ulster, Causeway Chamber of Commerce and The Springboard Charity, we offer various careers workshops, team building days and work experience weeks for our local communities. Sarah’s story demonstrates that hard work, educational opportunities and support from her business community can result in immense success.

The 4th female entrepreneurs conference, taking place on Tuesday 3rd March 2020 will focus on the importance of networking and making valuable connections, and how this impacts the future of enterprise, business and leadership. Our team are looking forward to hearing from an impressive panel which includes Johann Muldoon MBE, Sinead Murphy, Grainne Kelly, Sarah McAnallen along with key speakers Mandy Hickson, Mairead Mackle and Colette Twomey.
