Bloc Blinds Ltd was founded by managing director Cormac Diamond in 2006. After working in Poland for a number of years manufacturing construction equipment, an enquiry from an old employer led Cormac to investigate the potential demand for stylish, high quality blinds. From the business’s humble beginnings, making blinds with just a handful of staff in his father-in-law’s shed to being awarded the ‘Best Export business’ 10 years later in 2016 at the NI Chamber of Commerce Awards, Bloc Blinds Ltd showcases home grown manufacturing on an international scale.


By exporting all over Ireland, the UK, Europe, the US and beyond, Cormac and his team are always on the lookout for enthusiastic people to join the company. With a £4 million investment in March 2016 creating 93 manufacturing jobs over a 3 year period, along with a new, high tech facility constructed in Magherafelt, Senior Management & the HR department approached Riada to find out how we could help the business with their increased staffing needs & forecast growth.


Initially, Bloc Blinds were looking to recruit full & part time assembly & production operatives to cover the busy summer period until August 2016. Riada’s Industrial team understood the company’s ideal candidate profile, how many roles were required and when these objectives had to be fulfilled. We have continued to become their recruitment partner.


Following on from our success in the first year, Bloc Blinds have continued to recruit through Riada. We have sourced candidates across various departments, from entry to senior levels such as production operatives, quality manager, research & development manager & office assistant, managing over 345 applications.
